New Feature: Reports -> Sources

What is Sources?

There are many ways to slice up and analyze your traffic and referrals on the Web. In a continuing effort to make this easier for our customers, we are making a new feature available to all of our customers beginning today: Sources. This new Sources tool wraps up all of the data that used to be in Visitor Traffic, Visitors by Referring Site, and Visits by Keyword in one powerful interface. We have also rewritten the engine that powers our analytics system in HubSpot so that traffic results are calculated in advance, and available almost immediately. Between the speed increase and the new data we can provide with this new engine, there are many new ways you can analyze your marketing results in HubSpot.

You can learn more about the Sources tool in the Help & Support area.

More on HubSpot's New Navigation

Posted on Thu, Aug 13, 2009

Check out HubSpot's new navigation!

Starting today, HubSpot is making our new navigation available to customers. The new navigation for your HubSpot account is the result of much research into how people want to use our software.

Why are we doing this?

HubSpot has collected a lot of data about how you, our customers, use HubSpot and what you are looking to get out of the application on a daily basis. HubSpot's features have grown a lot over the years, so it's about time we tidied things up a bit.

What are the changes?

  1. The tabs of the navigation will now match the steps of the HubSpot methodology: Create, Optimize, Promote, Convert, and Reports.
  2. Each tab has a new Overview page to explain the tools in that section and give tips on how to improve your HubSpot marketing performance.
  3. We moved our HubSpot tools to appear under the tab corresponding to their place in the methodology:
    • Create - create content like web pages and blog articles
    • Optimize - grade keywords and page SEO performance
    • Promote - increase awareness of your business through social media networks
    • Convert - convert visitors into leads and customers using landing pages and email campaigns
    • Reports (Analyze) - track and monitor your traffic, referring sites, and competitors

When do they take effect?

Starting today, the new navigation is available for preview in the top-right corner by clicking the link "Preview The New Navigation?" Check out the interface and become accustomed to it! We'll be gathering feedback and refining the Overview pages during this opt-in period.
After approximately two weeks of the Preview period we will roll the new navigation out to all of our customers. Of course, we will continue to gather feedback and recommendations from our customers and make revisions after that time.

How can I give feedback about the new design?

As always, we greatly appreciate feedback and advice from our customers about how we can refine our product. We'll have a dedicated space in Success (success.hubspot.com) where you can post feedback or thoughts about the new navigation. We welcome any comments or feedback about the design.
